Students create really gooey slime in the colors they want! This hands-on experiment teaches chemical reactions and how two different materials combine to make specific chemical bonds. Students learn about elastomers - polymers that spring back to their original shape after being twisted, pulled, or compressed.

DNA Extraction

Genes in a Tube Station (DNA Extraction)

Fiwasaye Girls Grammar School, Akure

A fun and fascinating laboratory activity that shows students how to isolate human genomic DNA. Students extract DNA by lysing their cheek cell samples, watch wispy white strands of their own DNA precipitate, and create DNA necklaces they can actually wear!
